We are Roger Morris and David Simcox, your Conservative candidates for the new Wistaston & Willaston ward. Roger has lived in Wistaston for years. This is home. We are here to fight for these villages and the people who live in them.
From Church Lane to Middlewich Road, Wells Green to Moorfields, Crewe Road in Willaston and the lanes around Mike Heywood Green — this is our patch and we are proud of it.
We have been knocking on doors, attending planning meetings, challenging Cheshire East Council and listening to what residents tell us matters most.
We are not career politicians. Roger has run his family business on West Street for over 35 years and knows this community inside out. David has spent his working life helping people in Crewe through Citizens Advice. We are local people who want to make a real difference.
No spin, no twelve-point plan dreamt up in an office somewhere. Just clear priorities, honest communication and hard work for the people of Wistaston and Willaston.
About Roger & David →🌿 Latest: Green Gap Planning Decision — 28 May 2026
Outline planning permission has been granted for 660 homes on land east of Middlewich Road, Wistaston. It went through on a casting vote, with Labour councillors from Crewe West moving and seconding approval. This is a serious blow for residents but the fight is not over.

One of Willaston's most famous events is back this weekend.
The World Worm Charming Championships return on Saturday, bringing visitors from across the country and helping put our village on the map once again.
It's a fantastic community event and a great example of the unique traditions that make Willaston such a special place to live.

🌿 This one is personal.
On Wednesday I sat in that planning board meeting and watched 660 homes get approved on the fields between Wistaston Green Road and Middlewich Road. Fields I drive past every day. Fields that separate our village from Crewe.
Margaret Simon – Wistaston Ward Councillor and Wistaston Parish Council fought their hardest. Residents objected in their hundreds. We had five minutes between us to make the case. Five minutes.
Labour councillors from Crewe West, nothing to do with our ward moved and seconded the approval. The casting vote did the rest.
I am not going to pretend this isn't a blow. It is. Margaret Simon – Wistaston Ward Councillor has been honest with you about that and so will I.
But outline permission is not the end of this. There are reserved matters still to come. There will be more applications. And David and I will be at every single meeting, making sure your voice is heard.
Wistaston and Willaston deserve better than this. As your Conservative candidates for the new ward, protecting the Green Gap is our number one priority not just in an election season, but every single time a developer comes knocking.
We've put a full breakdown of what happened and what comes next on our website. Please read it and share it with anyone who cares about keeping our villages as villages.

Exciting news! Following the boundary review, Crewe Central ward no longer exists, it has been merged into Crewe North. As a result, Roger and David have been selected as the Conservative candidates for the brand new Wistaston & Willaston ward.
Roger has lived in Wistaston for many years, so this is very much home territory for him, and we are both incredibly proud to be standing for this wonderful community.
We'll be updating this page over the coming days, please share with anyone in Wistaston or Willaston so they can follow along. We want to hear from YOU about the issues that matter most in your village.

Big shoutout to everyone and Krazy Races who organised, built, raced and volunteered today, honestly what a day 👏
Living just off Broad Street, you could hear the crowds and atmosphere from the minute it started this morning right through to the end, and it’s been brilliant seeing so many people out enjoying themselves.
The place was absolutely packed all day, loads going on everywhere you looked and some of the karts flying down that hill were mad 😂
Days like today remind you how good Crewe can be when the town comes together properly.
Already hoping it comes back next year ☀️🏁

Crewe is already starting to buzz for Krazy Races and it’s brilliant to see the town coming to life right on my doorstep on Broad Street ☀️🏁
Seeing all the stalls, racers and community groups setting up this morning genuinely reminds me of being a kid when Crewe Carnival used to bring the whole town together.
If today is anything like it’s looking already, it’s going to be a fantastic day for Crewe 👏
If you’re thinking of heading down later, definitely do, loads going on already and the atmosphere is building fast!

COFFEE AND CONVERSATION WITH BEN FLETCHER
(CHESHIRE & WARRINGTON MAYORAL CANDIDATE)
☀️The sun was shining (and is forecast to do so for the whole of this BH weekend!) ☀️
It was perfect weather for getting out and about talking to residents (after a well attended Coffee and Conversation morning) about:
– “all matters Cheshire East”
– “what residents want from their future Cheshire & Warrington Mayor” with Mayoral Candidate Ben Fletcher answering questions in Willaston, Crewe, that ranged from housing development in towns and open countryside, buses, roads and the A500, Crewe regeneration, skills and training.
And at the forefront was Ben’s key message about Mayoral Precepts;
“I WILL NOT RAISE YOUR TAXES: NOT. ONE. PENNY.”
Thank you to all those residents who chatted to us, completed questionnaires and shared their views, concerns and ideas! 🙏
#CheshireConservativesworkingforyou
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
