Wistaston & Willaston β€” A New Ward is Created

A New Ward for Two Great Villages

Following the Cheshire East boundary review, a brand new ward has been created ahead of the 2027 local elections. Wistaston and Willaston now have their own dedicated ward and their own dedicated candidates fighting for them.

What Has Changed and Why

Cheshire East Council undertook a full boundary review of all its wards, carried out by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England. The aim was to make sure each ward had roughly equal numbers of residents and that communities were properly represented.

The result for this area is straightforward. Crewe Central ward no longer exists. It has been merged into Crewe North, where Roger Morris continues to serve as the sitting Conservative councillor until the new arrangements come into force in May 2027.

At the same time, the two villages of Wistaston and Willaston have been brought together into a brand new ward of their own β€” Wistaston & Willaston β€” which will return two councillors at the 2027 elections.

🌿 What the New Ward Covers

The Wistaston & Willaston ward covers both villages in full, from Church Lane and Middlewich Road in Wistaston across to Crewe Road and the lanes around Mike Heywood Green in Willaston. The ward boundary is defined under The Cheshire East (Electoral Changes) Order 2026.

Your Conservative Candidates

Roger Morris and David Simcox were selected as the Conservative candidates for the new Wistaston & Willaston ward at the Crewe & Nantwich Conservative Association meeting in May 2026. Both were chosen because of their genuine roots in this area and their track record of fighting for local residents.

What Roger & David Are Fighting For

Three issues keep coming up on the doorstep and these are the priorities Roger and David will be working on: protecting the Green Gap from developers, fixing our roads properly rather than endless patch jobs, and keeping our community safe. Parking at Church Lane school and Kings Drive shops, bin collections, grass cutting and the general look of the area are also firmly on the list.
